Characterization
In the begining of the story Scrooge seems to be a mean ungrateful character constantely saying "bah humbug" to the cheerful towns people. Scrooge comes on as a strong, hateful character towards Christmas. However as the ghost's begin to arrive, we see another side of Scrooge we haven't before. This side of him is more cowardly and scared than before. It states on page 53 that "he was not the dogged Scrooge he had been before." Scrooge was changing a little from the begining of the story when he was mostly a mean, cold hearted person. His outlook is chagning and his character is developing into a more emotional character.
